MPUAT Seeks Collaboration and Partnership with CLSU

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) through the College of Agriculture hosted the exploratory visit of Dr. Lokesh Gupta, Dean of the College of Dairy and Food Technology of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), India from July 22 to August 5, 2023.  The two-week visit enabled Dr. Gupta to visit the different R&D centers and facilities in the university including the Center for Transboundary Animal Diseases (CenTrAD), Precision and Digital Agriculture Center (PreDiCt), Plant Pests and Diseases Clinic Surveillance and Research Center, and the Freshwater Aquaculture Center (FAC). Dr. Gupta also took interest in the operation of Agriculture and Food Technology Business Incubator (AFTBI) where developed technologies are applied for commercialization. In addition, he also participated in the opening program of the CLSU-UC-SEARCA International Summer Short-term Program where graduate students from the University Consortium members convened for a 9-day training program. During his stay, Dr. Gupta also explored the online agricultural training platform of eFARM Academy developed by CLSU which offers various programs and where he enrolled in the Sustainable and Efficient Animal Management Strategies training course. After his personal experience with the program, Dr. Gupta expressed his intention to modify the learning management system of MPUAT. As an offshoot of the exploratory visit,  Dr. Gupta proposed to depute 10 of their students for a one - month  training this year to be hosted by CLSU as part of the initial collaborative activities under the student mobility. The proposed international training will be  funded by the Development Program of the Institutional Development Program (IDP) under the National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) of India.

CLSU Holds Blessing for Farmers’ Training Hostel

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) officially inaugurated the Farmers’ Training Hostel during a blessing ceremony held on November 20, 2024. The blessing was led by Fr. Rufo Ramil Cruz, CLSU Chaplain, joined by Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, University President, Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, Vice President for Administration, Dr. RavelinaR. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Karenina B. Romualdo, Vice President for University Business Affairs, Dr. Ma. Elizabeth C. Leoveras, Head of Auxiliary Services alongside other esteemed members of the Administrative Council. The newly renovated Farmers’ Training Hostel is a two-story building with 24 rooms, designed to accommodate visitors and guests, particularly those attending stay-in training programs. The hostel is located behind the CEC Hostel and adjacent to the R&E Cafeteria.

In the latest edition of the AppliedHE Public and Private University rankings, Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has reaffirmed its strong global standing by securing the 69th position in ASEAN Region and the 4th rank among public universities in the Philippines. CLSU has been recognized for its high ratings in key areas, including Employability, Quality of Teaching and Learning, Cutting-Edge Research, Community Engagement, Internationalization, and Institutional Reputation. This accomplishment underscores CLSU's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and community development. The recent typhoon brought challenges to Central Luzon State University, leaving visible signs of its impact across the campus.
