NE PLGU and LGU, DA-PRDP, and CLSU Hold Groundbreaking Ceremony for Onion Cold Storage

To boost onion production and show support to the onion farmers in Nueva Ecija, the Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija, led by Governor Aurelio ‘Oyie’ Umali, together with the Department of Agriculture, initiated the establishment of the NE Onion Cold Storage which was celebrated through a Groundbreaking Ceremony today, March 24 held inside the compound of the at NE Fruits and Vegetables Seed Center. The 210 million pesos worth of facility is expected to house at least 120,000 bags of onion. The cold storage will be made possible under the Philippine Rural Development Project of DA. Also, present during the event were CLSU Officials, namely, Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, Vice President for Administration, and Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, Vice President for University Business Affairs Program, who duly represented the University President and CLSU. Other government officials who graced the event were ASEC Arnel V. De Mesa, Assistant Secretary, Department of Agriculture and PRDP National Project Director, Hon. Mario O. Salvador, San Jose City Mayor, Hon. Baby Armi L. Alvarez, Science City of Munoz Mayor, Engr. Crispulo Bautista, Jr., DA Regional Director, Dr. Arthur Dayrit, DA Regional Technical Director for Research, Hon. Emmanuel Anthony M. Umali, Vice Governor Nueva Ecija and Dr. Jovita Agliam, representative from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist of NE.

CLSU Celebrates Monthlong CSC Anniversary

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) proudly joined in the nationwide celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC), showcasing its commitment to excellence in public service. Throughout September, the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) organized a series of activities for employees designed to foster camaraderie, strengthen professional skills, and promote holistic well-being among its staff. These events include a diverse lineup, featuring Fun Run, Wellness Day, and Sportsfest, which promote health and community spirit, while Customer Relations Management Training sharpens professional skills. The University also facilitated Philsys National ID Registration and a vital Bloodletting Activity, underscoring its dedication to both its staff and the wider community.

CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.
