With the theme “Know Yourself, Grow Yourself: A Journey towards True Self,” the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) through the Guidance Services Unit (GSU) held a series of activities this March in celebration of Guidance Awareness Month. The celebration kicked off on March 3, 2025, at the CLSU Multi-Purpose Gym where OSA Guidance Counselors, Mental Health Advocates, and College Guidance Coordinators were introduced, followed by a motorcade around the campus. Dr. Irene G. Bustos, OSA Dean, reiterated that the Guidance Awareness Month Celebration has been one of the major programs of their office and is anticipated by students each year. University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella expressed his support by recognizing the indispensable role of OSA in promoting mental health at the University. Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Chrisdell C. Munsayac, GSU Head, led the guidance activities such as Seminars, Radio Guesting, Wellness Wednesday, and Yoga Sessions conducted at the college and university levels through the concerted efforts of OSA Personnel, College Guidance Coordinators, student leaders, peer facilitators, and other student volunteers. Indeed, these activities provided students, faculty, and staff with an opportunity to refocus, recharge, and prioritize their mental well-being, raise awareness, and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues.
