Sanghaya Festival: CLSU-CASS holds event in celebration of Nueva Ecija cultural heritage

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) - College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) held the Sanghaya (Salamin at Ganda ng Lahi at Hayag na Yamang Kultural ng Nueva Ecija) Festival on Oct. 24, 2022 at the CLSU Reimers Hall. The event displayed cultural performances, cooking demonstrations, and the launch of the coffee table book “bUhay: A Culinary Discovery of the Rice Granary of the Philippines.”   The festival, in partnership with the Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija - Provincial Tourism Office, was a celebration of Novo Ecijano cultural heritage and traditions. Coinciding with the event, the newly published coffee table book featuring different Novo Ecijano cuisines was launched with a ceremonial signing with dignitaries including Regional Director Carolina D. Uy of the Department of Tourism - Region III, Dr. Raul D. Divina, City Administrator of the Science City of Muñoz, and Atty. Jose Maria Ceasar C. San Pedro, Nueva Ecija Provincial Tourism Officer.   CLSU Bithay Sining Dance Company and Tanghalang Gagalaw CLSU (TAGA-CLSU) also showcased their talents during the indigenous dance and theatrical performances. While representatives from the Local Government Units in the province demonstrated how to cook their locally famous dishes such as the unique dorobong (combination of dinuguan and adobo) bibe of Llanera and chicharong inantala of Guimba.   Meanwhile, the second day of Sanghaya with segments on Historical and Cultural Quiz Bee and Visual Arts Contest will be held on Nov. 25, 2022.

CLSU Holds Blessing for Farmers’ Training Hostel

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) officially inaugurated the Farmers’ Training Hostel during a blessing ceremony held on November 20, 2024. The blessing was led by Fr. Rufo Ramil Cruz, CLSU Chaplain, joined by Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, University President, Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, Vice President for Administration, Dr. RavelinaR. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Karenina B. Romualdo, Vice President for University Business Affairs, Dr. Ma. Elizabeth C. Leoveras, Head of Auxiliary Services alongside other esteemed members of the Administrative Council. The newly renovated Farmers’ Training Hostel is a two-story building with 24 rooms, designed to accommodate visitors and guests, particularly those attending stay-in training programs. The hostel is located behind the CEC Hostel and adjacent to the R&E Cafeteria.

CLSU Maintains Strong Global Standing, Ranks 69th in 2025 AppliedHE

In the latest edition of the AppliedHE Public and Private University rankings, Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has reaffirmed its strong global standing by securing the 69th position in ASEAN Region and the 4th rank among public universities in the Philippines. CLSU has been recognized for its high ratings in key areas, including Employability, Quality of Teaching and Learning, Cutting-Edge Research, Community Engagement, Internationalization, and Institutional Reputation. This accomplishment underscores CLSU's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and community development. AFTERMATH AT CLSU | Restore and Rebuild

The recent typhoon brought challenges to Central Luzon State University, leaving visible signs of its impact across the campus. These photos highlight the resilience of the CLSU community as we come together to restore and rebuild.
