VPAA is a Recipient of SEARCA's Regional Professorial Chair Grant for 2022-2023

Dr. Renato G. Reyes, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), is one of the four outstanding academicians in Southeast Asia to receive the Regional Professional Chair Grant 2022-2023 in the field of mycology chosen by the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA). As part of the award, Dr. Reyes will present a public lecture focusing on the “Recent advances on the domestication and mykopharming of wild edible mushrooms in the Philippines for the biofunctional food industry.” The grant is indeed a testament to the outstanding contribution of Dr. Reyes in the field of Mycology. In an announcement posted today, April 22 on the official Facebook page of SEARCA, the grant recognizes outstanding Southeast Asian experts in the academe whose achievements have made a great impact or contributions toward Accelerating Transformation Through Agricultural Innovation (ATTAIN). Moreover, SEARCA, a non-profit organization established by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) in 1966, has awarded 51 Grants to deserving individuals from 2012 to the present as part of its mandate to contribute to the agricultural and rural development in the region.

CLSU Celebrates Monthlong CSC Anniversary

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) proudly joined in the nationwide celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC), showcasing its commitment to excellence in public service. Throughout September, the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) organized a series of activities for employees designed to foster camaraderie, strengthen professional skills, and promote holistic well-being among its staff. These events include a diverse lineup, featuring Fun Run, Wellness Day, and Sportsfest, which promote health and community spirit, while Customer Relations Management Training sharpens professional skills. The University also facilitated Philsys National ID Registration and a vital Bloodletting Activity, underscoring its dedication to both its staff and the wider community.

CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.
